Projects

SUNY Buffalo State - Reconstruct Central Heating Plant
10/15/2021
The existing steam heating plant was constructed in 1947 and included four, 56,000 pph steam boilers. In 1965 an addition was constructed on the north end of the steam plant for the addition of two more 56,000 pph boilers. In 2000 the two 56,000 pph boilers on the north end addition were removed, and a new single 27,000 fire-tube water (summer use) was installed, along with controls and modernization upgrades to the original four boilers. Sienna Environmental Technologies, LLC provided complete design and construction administration services for the replacement of the existing boilers and all associated equipment, wiring, piping, controls and appurtenances within the building. This project included the removal of six 42,000 gallon underground #6 fuel tanks, and the removal of an existing 160 ft. masonry stack. The new boilers and equipment require less space, thus accommodating a down-sizing and partial demolition of the building.

US Army Corp of Engineers - Buffalo River SAV Ellicott Site
04/30/2021
Past industrial land uses have re-channeled the Buffalo River and hardened its shoreline. As a result, historic aquatic habitat was lost through dredging or fill, resulting in a river that was declared ‘biologically dead’ by the federal government in 1969. To reverse this trend, the Buffalo District of the USACE has committed resources to a number of habitat restoration projects along the River. The Buffalo River SAV Ellicott Site Project has removed a derelict wooden dock structure and years of accumulated debris along one stretch of the River in order to establish both aquatic and terrestrial riparian habitats. Rootwads and locked log structures have been installed to enhance fish habitat and to protect the proposed plantings in this dynamic river system, which is prone to ice scour and storm surge events. This location is a recreation and development hot spot and is highly visible to residents and visitors alike. The scope of work for Sienna Environmental Technologies, LLC included the preparation of Contractor Quality Control, Environmental Protection, Emergency Response, and Accident Prevention Plans. Sienna provided Third Party Field Oversight in order to meet the Corps’ requirements for quality control and adherence to plans, specifications, and safety requirements. Other duties included the preparation of an Activity Hazard Analysis, directing weekly site safety meetings, offsite safety training, management of the Corps’ online Quality Control System, and work progress documentation.

SUNY University at Buffalo - Flint, South Lake & Hadley Villages
12/31/2020
A flagship institution in the State University of New York system, UB is the largest and most comprehensive campus in the 64-campus SUNY system. UB has recently been ranked the top public university in New York State. Along with four residence halls on campus, the University at Buffalo also offers students five modern and private apartment complexes for student housing. Flint Village, South Lake Village and Hadley Village are furnished apartments with a short walk to UB’s academic buildings and athletic venues, with community buildings and business centers on-site for student convenience. Sienna Environmental Technologies, LLC, as part of the design team for the Exterior Door Replacement project at Flint Village, South Lake Village and Hadley Village Apartments at the North Campus, performed hazardous materials inspection services for asbestos, PCB caulks and sealants and lead-based paint. The community building and nine apartment buildings of Flint Village also underwent a roof replacement project. Sienna performed the inspection services for that project as part of the same design team.

City of Buffalo - Buffalo Community Centers
12/31/2017
The Buffalo Community Centers, located in Buffalo, New York, underwent extensive renovations to transform a dozen of its buildings. These projects included capital improvements at many of the community centers that offer programs that lift up and assist senior citizens, low-income families, and those who need additional tutoring, job training or health services. JFK, North Buffalo, NorthWest, TJ Dulski, Matt Urban and Polonia Hall Community Centers were among the buildings in which Sienna Environmental Technologies, LLC assisted in the scope of work to help make this project a reality. The cost for renovations at the Buffalo Community Centers was $8.1 million. Mayor Byron Brown stated, "Funds were distributed in such a way that will make each dollar go as far as it can, improving the quality of life for our residents. Investing in these facilities makes sense, offering a safe and updated outlet for young people, while improving the sites and programs to enhance the experience for all city residents, including our senior citizens." Electrical, plumbing, and roadwork updates and enhancements are a few more of the alterations that occurred as part of these projects.
